Bolton West MP Chris Green has welcomed today’s Budget, which confirmed extra funding for social care and plans for technical training with new ‘T Levels’.
Measures announced today include an extra £2 billion over the next three years for social care, a freeze in fuel duty for the seventh successive year, plans for new ‘T Levels’ and £20 million to tackle domestic violence.
The Office for Budget Responsibility has also revised its forecast for the economy to 2% - up from 1.4%.
Chris said: “With employment at a record high and economic growth stronger than predicted, we now know that the doomsayers were wrong with their predictions of recession and great economic turmoil in the direct aftermath of a Brexit vote.
“Today’s Budget will maintain our economy’s strength and its stability, whilst preparing our country for a highly-skilled global future.
“As an engineer, I particularly welcome the plans for new ‘T Levels’, which will give young people the skills they need to secure high-paid and skilled jobs.”
