When Bolton Council approved the development of Bluebell Walk in Westhoughton, it was on the condition that a road between Platt Lane and Chequerbent roundabout would be built and opened before residents moved into their new houses.
I have received a letter from Bolton Council which set out that the developer has not delivered on its promise and that it will be given a specific exemption from delivering on its promise to build a through road which would do much to reduce local congestion.
I will do all I can to ensure that this is a temporary rather than permanent exemption but, once again, it shows that Bolton Labour’s priority is to side with the developers and corporations, rather than local residents.
They haven’t learnt from the ASONS and NCP scandals.
