I chaired a Westminster Health Forum seminar in Manchester recently about what devolution means and the future of primary health care in Greater Manchester.
Devo Manc and the combining of Health and Social Care offers a massive opportunity to improve health for the 2.5 million people of Greater Manchester, as well as radically changing the NHS from a sickness service to a genuine health service. It's also a fantastic opportunity to change the way the NHS works, better integrate it with other services and change the way government engages with people to create a 21st century system delivering a healthy society.
