A Bolton MP has been appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Department for Transport.
Bolton West & Atherton MP Chris Green will now act as a liaison between backbench MPs and Ministers in the Department for Transport, as well as assisting with the Department’s work.
The MP has previously campaigned on transport issues in his constituency, including rail and road links, and has spoken and raised questions on the topic dozens of times since being elected to Parliament in 2015.
Commenting on his new role, the MP said: “I’m honoured to have been appointed as PPS to the Department for Transport.
“Over the coming weeks and months, transport will feature heavily in the legislative agenda and we are going to start to see plenty of changes in transport infrastructure up and down the country as a result of government investment – not least in Bolton, where electrification will pave the way for better carriages with more seats.
“It is going to be a busy time and I’m looking forward to working alongside Ministers to ensure that Bolton and the rest of the UK has a resilient transport network.”
