The chef of a Bolton pub has been nominated for a prestigious national award by local MP Chris Green.
Paul Butterworth, chef at the Bob’s Smithy Inn, Chorley Old Road, was put forward by the MP for Pub Chef of the Year, an annual competition organised by the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group, Nestle Professional and the British Beer and Pub Association.
Mr Butterworth will be judged by an expert panel to decide whether he goes through to the final stages where a ‘cook-off’ will take place.
Chris said: “Bolton West is lucky to have plenty of pubs serving top quality food, none more so than the Bob’s Smithy.
“Paul cooks hearty Lancastrian food in a beautiful countryside setting and so it was a no-brainer to nominate him. Good luck Paul!”
