Last week, Bolton West and Atherton MP Chris Green organised and hosted two public meetings, which saw local people attend from across the constituency.
Mr Green regularly holds ‘Meet your MP’ events across the constituency, where he encourages constituents to ask him their questions about local, national and international concerns.
Mr Green said: “It was fantastic to see so many constituents attend my recent public meetings in Atherton and Blackrod.
“During last week’s ‘Meet your MP’ events, Brexit dominated much of the discussion however it was worrying to once again hear about the crime concerns that local people continue to have.
“I was pleased that the Home Secretary recently announced the biggest increase in local police funding for over a decade. Also, in a recent meeting with the local Chief Superintendent, I was informed that there is going to be a re-organisation of local policing to substantially enhance the police’s neighbourhood presence.”
Mr Green will be holding more public meetings later this year. More details of these can also be found on Chris’ Facebook Page @ChrisGreen4BoltonWest and also on his website www.chris-green.org.uk.
