For a long while, there have been problems with parking around Horwich Leisure Centre.
When the leisure centre was being built, the old leisure centre was being knocked down and with new health centre being built, there has been limited onsite parking, as well as additional problems with contractors’ vehicles.
Thankfully, with the completion of Horwich health centre now in sight, the final design of the car park will be completed, much to the relief of local residents.
There is one more hurdle to jump first and that is to do with funding from Bolton Council. The contractor has the money to do the first 100 spaces but Bolton Council are yet to confirm the monies for the other 100 spaces.
I’m pressuring the council to secure funding for our car park immediately, rather than delay, wasting time and incurring more costs with the developer having to leave the site and come back to finish the job.
