Chris Green MP has praised the success of a Bolton-brewed beer, which has just gone on tap in a pub on the Parliamentary estate.
The Bank Top Brewery’s ‘Bad To The Bone Beer’ is now on available at Strangers’ Bar in Westminster, frequented by MPs and their guests and parliamentary staff.
The MP has long-been vocal about the contributions local pubs make to his constituency, recently pledging his support for the ‘Love Live The Local Campaign’ which helps pubs in his constituency remain open for business.
Mr Green said: “It’s wonderful that a Bolton based beer is currently on tap in the Houses of Parliament and the ‘Bad To The Bone’ beer certainly received a lot of praise in Westminster.
“Pubs and breweries contribute greatly to our community, supporting over one thousand jobs in Bolton West and Atherton alone, so it’s great to see this brewery deservedly in the limelight.
“This is why I will continue to support a freeze in beer duty, so that our pubs can keep their doors open and carry supporting our local economy and putting Bolton on the map.”
The Bank Top Brewery has two public houses, with The Ale House based in Horwich in Mr Green’s constituency.
