Chris Green MP is pushing Bolton Community Practice and NHS England for answers about the delays to the health and wellbeing centre proposed for Horwich.
The plans for the new health and wellbeing centre were proposed to go forward as part of the newly opened Horwich Leisure Centre. However, Bolton Community Practice has not yet put forward a planning application for the new health centres to Bolton Council and the £6.8million in NHS funding for the development has been delayed.
The Horwich MP has since written to both the Bolton Community Practice and NHS England making enquiries about why the plans have not been put forward and why the funding delays are taking place.
Mr Green said: “Whilst the delays to the Horwich Health Centre are taking place, I think it’s important that local people aren’t kept in the dark.
“Residents would like more information about what will be happening on the site of the demolished Horwich leisure centre and when to expect the health centre to be built.
“Having three health centres moving onto one site will change the way that people access their healthcare provisions and I hope that asking the Bolton Community Practice and NHS England for an update on their plans will help clarify these concerns.”
