Chris Green MP was joined by Rt Hon Anne Milton MP, Minister of State for Apprenticeships and Skills on a visit to the North West Ambulance Service’s base in Ladybridge.
During the Minister’s first visit to celebrate National Apprenticeship week, both Ms Milton and Mr Green met with North West Ambulance Service apprentices and discussed the benefits of offering these learning opportunities.
Mr Green said: “Apprenticeships can provide people with a valuable and practical learning experience, equipping them with the skills they need to secure future job opportunities.
“It was fantastic to visit the North West Ambulance Service with my colleague Anne and meet their apprentices during National Apprenticeship Week and hear about the opportunities their apprenticeships provided them.
“It was also interesting to learn more about the wide variety of areas our ambulance service offers apprenticeships, including ICT, finance, communications, mechanics and more, all of which can lead to rewarding and fulfilling careers.”
Following the visit, Ms Milton said: “I was thrilled to kick off National Apprenticeship Week 2019 with a visit to the North West Ambulance Service, to meet apprentices who help deliver urgent and emergency health care across their region.
“The apprentices I met are trained to deliver the right care, at the right time, in the right place – giving them an excellent foundation to progress in their careers, whilst making a huge difference to the lives of others.
