Across the constituency, residents have raised concerns with me about broadband providers putting up masts and monopoles, which I know are a real eyesore and can, in some places, be a hazard.
Borough Councils are the local planning authorities but they are limited in what they can do to control the siting of these masts, although Bolton Council have recently been successful at challenging the siting of some of the kit and are forming a better working relationship with the companies.
I have raised constituents' concerns with the Secretary of State but I would encourage people to sign this petition as another mechanism of raising this as a problem and applying pressure for change.
