1,700 new houses are set to be built at the Horwich Loco Works site but there is still no news on the building of a new primary school. The new houses are designed to be family homes but Bolton Council has still not told the people of Horwich where a new primary school will be built or which school will be upgraded.
One aspect that is certain is that the planners do not want a new school on the Loco Works site as that would reduce the number of houses to be built and therefore cut the profit. Labour run Bolton Council seem to be happy to go along with this.
Chris Green commented: “The Rivington Chase development needs a new school on-site because we want children and parents to be able to have a healthy walk to school rather than ferrying their children by car and causing even more congestion.”
