Bolton West MP Chris Green is urging local people to ‘use it or lose it’ over fears that the area’s last remaining college may close.
The MP has been contacted by Westhoughton Community Learning Centre users who have raised concerns about the Centre’s future.
Bolton College, who run the site, have confirmed that they are currently running a consultation to determine what would stimulate demand for the Centre after a lack of demand for offered courses in the last few months.
Chris said:
“Westhoughton Community Learning Centre is the last college left on our side of Bolton and I know a lot of people, some who I have met myself at the Centre, are concerned that it may close like the Horwich college site which is going to have more housing built on it.
“I would encourage anyone interested in keeping the Learning Centre open to get involved with the consultation and share their views.”
