Bolton West MP Chris Green has formally objected to proposals for 129 houses at the end of a busy cul-de-sac in Westhoughton.
The MP has been contacted by residents urging him to oppose the plans which would see a narrow residential road, Collingwood Way, become a cut-through for the hundreds of cars that would need to access the new estate.
He commented:
“With all these plans for housing estates to take over every single bit of green space in Westhoughton, it really does seem that our town has become a cash cow for Bolton Council.
“Plans for so many houses at the end of a very narrow, very winding cul-de-sac is completely inappropriate and I would urge as many people as possible to get their objections in before the deadline next week.”
