Bolton’s Labour Council have pledged to spend £2.5 million of taxpayer’s money on doing up Westhoughton Town Hall – conveniently just as parts of Westhoughton go to the polls to vote in town council by-elections. £2.5 million is a lot of money to spend on one building, particularly when Councillor Cliff Morris has now confirmed that our council tax is going to be hiked up yet again, and I know that your Westhoughton Conservative councillors have been asking whether some of this money can be diverted to fixing our roads.
I would be interested to hear what you think? Should this much money be spent on the Town Hall or do you think we should be looking at other things – like our broken roads – first?
