A Bolton MP has hosted a Parliamentary reception for British Heart Foundation, attended by MPs, medical researchers and health practitioners from across the country.
Chris Green, who was an engineer in the health sector before becoming an MP, gave a speech at the event, which was organised to celebrate the latest breakthroughs in cardiovascular research.
British Heart Foundation is the leading funder of cardiovascular research in the UK, funding hundreds of scientists to improve diagnosis and treatments for the 7 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory disease.
Chris said: “I was delighted to host this important event for British Heart Foundation who do fantastic work in improving the lives of people with conditions such as diabetes and vascular dementia.
“We saw how researchers are developing innovative new technologies and research into heart repair, such as looking at the fish that can regenerate its damaged heart and 3D-printed hearts which could improve the treatment of children with congenital heart disease.
“It was an engaging event and a good chance for us to showcase the important world-class work that British Heart Foundation does.”
