Chris Green MP has welcomed the news that 89% of schools in his constituency are rated either ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.
Recent data shows that before 2010, only 54% of schools in Bolton West and Atherton were rated either ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’. Now, after 8 years of Conservative government, 89% of schools in Mr Green’s constituency are now rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.
Mr Green said: “The quality of our schools is so important to ensure that children get the best start in life and now even more children not only in Bolton West and Atherton have access to good quality education.
“This has only been possible with the hard work of teachers and schools alongside the Conservative’s education reform and our approach to the economy.
"With an additional £2 billion being spent on education over the next two years, bringing the total spent on education to a record high £43.5 billion in 2019-2020, I hope that even more children in the future will have access to the good quality education that they deserve.”
