Important changes to shielding guidance from 6 July
From 6 July, people who have been shielding will be able to meet outdoors, in a group, with up to five others and form support bubbles with other households.
Now that we are seeing infection rates falling and we are increasingly bringing the virus under control, we can once again start to reopen society and allow people to see their loved ones once more.
Support packages will continue to remain in place until the end of July to help people transition - this includes access to priority supermarket delivery slots, support with shopping, medication, phone calls and transport to medical appointments when the shielding programme ends in August.
