One of the greatest impacts Covid-19 lockdowns had was to disrupt funding activities for so many of our favourite charities, including the hospice movement.
When people couldn't do a sponsored walk, parachute jump or pop into their local charity shops, charities lost a huge source of their income.
Whilst hospices such as Bolton Hospice, Wigan & Leigh Hospice and Derian House value the independence this fundraising gives, they do receive significant funding from local Government and the NHS.
With an ageing population, that part of the funding must increase which is why I spoke up for them in Parliament.
